Salary: Assistant Professor — approx ₹57,700 basic, ₹90K+ gross; JRF — ₹37,000 per month plus HRA
Eligibility
- Master's degree with 55% for UGC NET (relaxations apply)
- BEd plus graduation/post-graduation for school teaching posts
- Age limit 30 years for JRF; no upper limit for Assistant Professor eligibility

Exam pattern
- Paper 1: teaching and research aptitude (100 marks)
- Paper 2: subject-specific (200 marks)
- Both papers objective, single sitting, no negative marking for NET
- Separate interview/demo for institutional recruitment
Preparation roadmap
- Finish the official syllabus unit by unit with one standard book each.
- Practise Paper 1 aptitude daily — it is fully scoring.
- Solve 10 years of previous subject papers.
- Write one review paper to build research aptitude.
- Prepare a 10-minute demo lecture for interviews.
